gad thinks he's god...

egyptian glass bottle designed to hold a perfume oil

The man who named me brought this back for me from Egypt a few years ago. I brought it to Toronto from Newfoundland when my "lovely"(read: benighted and evil) sister finally gave it to me.

I remember when I was very small, we went to a show at the Arts and Culture Centre that was put on by James Paton Memorial Hospital. There was a comedy sketch, and they referenced this doctor, my dad's acquaintance, in a joke that I still remember. It was 23 years ago if it was a day. It's funny, how your head works.

night swimming

Burning buildings. 12 second exposure and no tripod makes it look like destruction has rained down on Toronto. It's fun, but not exactly what I was going for.

Little high-rise fire ducks. 6 second exposure. Obviously, no tripod.

Traffic trails downtown. 6 second exposure. I'm pleased with this one. Again, no tripod.

in memoriam

It's fairly late at night right now. The television is murmuring in the background just to keep me awake while I work on some projects on the computer.

Channel 117.

Global, west coast feed.

I just found out that Michael Gilden died on Sunday. Michael was an actor and a stockbroker, most recently guesting on NCIS as the love interest of Abby.

I remember Michael from Pulp Fiction and from a very well done episode of CSI from 2002. I was pleased to see him in a recurring role.

It is being reported in the press that Michael took his own life. This saddens me immensely. Perhaps because I understand the temptation. Perhaps just because he was handsome, talented, and funny. I hope that in the end he found peace, and I thank him, posthumously, for making me smile.

It isn't an easy thing to do.

Tiger Lilies. St. John's, Nfld. Yes, I know that's no longer the provincial abbreviation. Bite me.

Tiny tiny flowers. Beech Avenue. Toronto

Old camera pretty, too.
